The Monster in my Room

There lie await in his room a monster hiding in the dark much to the dismay of Mike. It often visited him crawling out from under his bed while he was nearly asleep. It would instantaneously wake Mike up by screaming as loud as it could.

You see this monster isn’t really harmful, he just hates being alone. So each night when he is allowed to come out, he wakes Mike up so he may play with him.

They like to talk about all of the normal things that monsters usually do. Death, Loneliness, Depression, Self-Loathing. The conversations are pretty typical, but they make the monster happy. The monster knows that at least Mike is there for him.

One night the monster came to wake up Mike, but Mike wasn’t there. The monster searched all over his room and even checked the bathroom. But Mike was no where to be found. The monster became extremely sad and lonely and sat on Mike's bed alone.

Days and later weeks passed while Mike was gone and all the while the monster lay waiting for Mike on his bed. Without any nourishment from Mike the monster began to shrink and become decrepit. Slowly the monster was dying and he feared he would never see Mike again.

About a Month later Mike came stumbling into the room drunk and Mike and the Monster were reunited with each-other at last. Immediately Mike embraced the Monster and nourished him back to life. The night may have been short, but their bond for the moment was complete.

Mike and the Monster feared they would never be able to see each other again, so like two forbidden lovers, they took their lives. Now they may stay on together in their last memories forever.

Mike took his life and the Monster followed, however, the monster found he was a unable to die. The monster became wildly depressed at losing his only companion and waited again alone on Mikes bed.

Within a day the Mother of Mike came to Mikes room. There she found the monster and decided to nourish the pitiful looking creature. Soon they became very close and the two spent time with each other each day. They talked about Mike and soon even formed their own relationship.

It was not too long after that the mother decided to follow in Mike’s footsteps and she took her life as well. This left the Monster alone and now wildly depressed.

The Monster sits alone in Mikes room waiting. Waiting for another, waiting for a friend. He knows his track record isn’t great, but if you let him in, he will care for you deeply.

To my friend the monster. I am sorry If I leave. I will see you occasionally, but please you must leave me be. I have things to do and people to free. I love you monster, so will you please let me be me.

Don't let the sweet welcoming monster in, he seems so warm and friendly, but he will never be good for you.
