My Beloved

My Beloved

A Poem by Marek Ren

The skies were grey,
And how the trees would sway.
Hooks latched to the back-
Anchoring behind was the past.
Step by step they slowed-
Step by step on an empty road.
The light began to fade,
For it we're the last day.

Collapsing to the ground
He was found-
Dead, with no return.
I had emerged.
He laid dead,
And I decided not to be his slave.
For him I dug a grave,
Then went my own way.

For him, my father-
For him, my creator:
I will become greater.
I would live and live I did.

Life was living
And I was singing.
This was the beginning.

I had my path,
But how great could it be?
For I had life,
But something felt out of line.

Something I cannot describe
And what I cannot deny
Became my desire.

To all I ask,
Why walk separate in path
When atlas we may wonder with another.
For in journey we aren't lost as long as found in each other.
For our paths are short for those who search,
But in those we love our paths are forever.

For in you my friend-
Step by step I came home.
Steps from stones to hell,
Life of mine,
I do tell we shall shine.

For life I live,
But devine I have find
Along steps by step
That we bind.

If by sea,
The light I find
Be thee-
My glistening shine.

If by air,
The falling star-
The beautifulest by far-
I make my wish
For this bliss of mine.

In you my friend
I have home,
For no matter where we roam
I have know
I am not alone.

There is warmth in your presence,
With you there is pleasance.

I step in life-
But bind
I live heaven.

Together we are weapons.

For in your path I shall be your shield.

For my future will not be defined by what was once behind.

For the future is anew
And I hope it to be
With you.
