Days Away

Days Away

A Poem by Marek Ren

I remember the day before when I wasn't this way.
Oh how you're away,
There's nowhere for me to stay.
Days away I will be the same,
Same old pain will continue and gain.
Same old days before this way, days away I was okay.
Melodies of when I was sane,
Back the past,
My beast I use to tame.
Go away, just go away.
Days go and time I pay.
So many ways count my insane,
Detached humanity.
Slipped from my grasp I look to haunting past.
Poet of the dead,
Eyes with the weight of a thousand souls,
Yet a smile as a warming home.
Out to open arms-
So many times been pulled apart.
Looked through the gaze-
Should've seen from the start...
Oh so many days gone to waste;
So many days,
Not this way.
