American's VotingA Chapter by Brian
Election time is arriving soon, which means that the majority of American's will stay home, or go out shopping or what ever instead of participating in one of our nations greatest traditions, something that our fore father fought and died for, to have the right to vote for those to represent us in Congress. However only a small percentage of American's will take a small portion of their time to go to the voting booths and vote, because they are willing to do something that isn't as popular as it used to be. My saying is, if you don't go to the voting booths and vote on election day, then do not complain about the politicians and their policies, because you could have had a chance of putting the right people in office rather than dismissive voting and letting the wrong people get into office. The problem with this nation is that we're so proud about our history, but we are not proud or enthused to go and vote. Why is that? Is it because voting isn't on the bandwagon? Is is because it's not "cool" anymore? Is it because politics just isn't your thing? None of those reasons are good enough to say "I am not going to go vote today," none of them are excusable. If 90 year old citizens can go vote in their wheelchairs, then I think we can all go and vote. People complained about President Bush's term in office, but most of his critics didn't get out and vote in both elections, but they go and complain about his domestic and international policy. All I have to say to those people are, if you didn't vote, then shut up, you had your time, and you chose not to go vote, so don't complain, sit down, and buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride. e
