Hope

Hope

A Poem by Siobhan Welch
"

Really, it's just a female soccer goalee's name

"

When all hope is gone

And all possibilities lost

With nothing left unsaid

No stone unturned

Everything's been tried

At least five different ways.

When the Archer turns her arrows

over to the next in line,

Shuts off the lights

Abandons all hope and

Resigns to the night

The soul's full sorrow.

Life goes on all around.

Babies and kittens are born

People live with passion

The price of gas goes up

Folks continue to b***h

And what was once, is no more.
