So........

I had this dream last night.  I was going to audition for a part in a play.  I had already missed the audition once, but a friend of mine kept telling me that they were still holding auditions, so I made a second appointment.  The auditions were being held at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel in Fresno, which has a lot of meeting rooms.  When I arrived, there were lots of other people waiting to audition for various parts.  When it came my turn, the director had me read something entirely different that wasn't part of the play he was casting, but I could understand his reasoning.

Now, in the meantime, I had parked "a" car (I'm not sure whose car it was) in the hotel garage.  While doing so, two cars in front of me bumped into each other and, somehow, that caused my car's windshield to pop out.  It didn't break, and there wasn't any other damage.  It was unsettling, but I decided to go on with the audition.

After the audition, I returned to my mom's house (which is in Kansas City - not Fresno).  She started freaking out about the windshield.  What had I done to cause the windshield to pop out?  Nothing?  No, that was impossible!  What other damage was done?  None?  That was also impossible!  She got on the phone and started calling around to see who could put the windshield back in, and asking each of the mechanics if it was possible for a windshield to pop out like that, without me having hit something, because surely I was lying to her and had actually done something to cause the windshield to pop out.

I had waited after the auditions with the other contenders to see which of us were going to receive parts.  I didn't think I stood a chance, but it was the proper and polite thing to do - to wait for the results.  When I saw that I'd been cast in TWO plays - the one for which I'd auditioned and another one in their upcoming season - I was overjoyed.  The other actors were cheering and congratulating me, as I was congratulating and cheering for them.  Some of them knew each other, but I was a complete stranger among them.

My mom never asked me about the results of the audition, and I never told her.  I'm not sure if I even participated in the play.  I mean, the car's windshield had popped out!
