Fear

Fear

A Poem by Siobhan Welch
"

Oh, I try to hide, but it seeks me out!

"

I'm afraid of your love, because I don't know what it is.

I don't know if it will vanish without a trace, without notice, or when.

I don't understand it, because I can see no cause.

I'm afraid, because it's entirely new, and I never learned about trust.

And, really, there are worse things than dying, my love.

Worse than having my head chopped off, and someone shitting down my neck.
