Not for Me

Not for Me

A Poem by Siobhan Welch
"

Let's be realistic here! (Darn!)

"

I saw a glimmer from the east.

I see it still.

It shines,

but not for me.

I want to hold it

close to me,

never let go, but

my darkness kills.

I catch it's glimmer

from the corner of my eye.

If I set my gaze straight on,

it will run and hide forever.

Glimpses,

moments,

the mere teasings of something so

divine my soul aches for it.

Lying in this shallow grave,

the one I've dug with my

own two hands,

I see that light.

I can climb out and

shake off the soil

but the light shines

not for me.

The light shined for few today. But we must get up and go forward. In the end the people forgotten will come alive and take this world to a better place. I hope.
A very strong poem. Hard to see positive sometime. But we must for our children. A excellent poem.
