Party invitations from God

Party invitations from God

A Poem by Siobhan Welch
"

Something simple - something nice.

"

The stars fell

from the sky

last night.

We met up at

the river

like some

ancient tribe

of hunters/gathers,

except with beer.

Communing with

water, rocks and

fellow humans,

we shared our history,

both common

and alone.

There must be

a higher power "

the great he/she/it "

because that’s who

sent out

last night’s

party invitations,

in the form of

shooting stars.

. . . and they all came and gathered round swapping stories and communing in flesh and spirit . . . this was given quite a different tone with the ending . . . a tone of spiritual (not religious) fellowship which I liked . . . I hate rating things such as this . . .
