Photographs of me

Photographs of me

A Poem by Siobhan Welch
"

Twenty-five years down the road, I'm thrown out with yesterday's trash.

"

I received the photos.
OK, I had to burn a few -
No matter.

You always said I had
the saddest eyes
you'd ever seen.

I must consider those eyes
from the inside, looking out,
and sad don't begin to explain.

You stuck em in a mailbox
and walked away
to rejoin your world.

As I look them over
I can plainly see why
you needed to rid them from your life.

One fucked up lady.
A major problem.
A source of discontent.

Yet somehow in your darkness
I shined a light
that made you see.

I still sit here
in the darkness,
waiting.
