One at a Time

One at a Time

A Poem by Hope
"

This is a song that I wrote yesterday; it was a poem to my fatigued puppy, then after I wrote the second line I decided to make this a Christian song meant for piano, guitar, and a female vocalist.

"

Db                             Db/Bb      Db/Ab

I know you're tired and ready to sleep

Db                                     Ab

There are so many places to be

Db

This is the world God created, and

Bbmin.                                 Ab

He's given you the blessing of Life

Gb            Bbmin.   Bbm/Ab

Thank Him for the rest you have, then

Gb               Bbm/Ab   Ebm/gb        Ab

Use it for His glory to change the world:

(a capella)                Db  Ab Gb  Ab/C Db

One smile at a time

Db                           Db/Bb      Db/Ab

There was a man who gave her trouble,

Bbm7                                     Ab

He was complaining about the delay;

                       Db

She knows that this is the world God created

Bbm/Gb                        Ab

He gave them the gift of Life.

Gb            Gb/Bb     Gb/Ab

Thank Him for the peace you have, then

Gb     Gb/eb   Gb/db    Gb             Ab

Use it for His glory to change the world:

(a capella)                  Db

One person at a time.

Gb                         Ab

There is so much to do

Gb                         Ab

At times I get overwhelmed;

               Db

But then I see His work

                                    Gb

and I am reminded that He changed the world;

Ab                              a capella                  Db

He changed the world....one word at a time.

Db                                      Bbm

His car was full and there was no room for the

Db                                    Ab

Broken child and her baby too.

Db

This is the world God created and

Gb                              Ab

He gave her a second chance.

eb                                      Db/F

She thanked the man for his seat,

eb/db                              FM

turned and said, "God be with you,"

Gb                 Ab                   FM               Bbm

Little did she know that the words she had said to him

            Db              Ab  (a capella)                      Db

Would allow him to hear the whispers in his heart

Author's Note

Hope
I wish there was no genre called "religious" because faith is not a religious thing, it's a lifestyle. Well, when I say, "his car was full" I am meaning a light rail car.

One smile at a time
One person at a time
One word at a time
Thank you, this is truly beautiful.
