Heathcliff

Heathcliff

A Poem by Hope
"

Going off of the famous lines in Wuthering Heights where Catherine says, "I am Heathcliff" and when she describes the relationship between her and Heathcliff.

"

I regained my soul!

Heathcliff, my being now is mine.

No longer are you the eternal rocks,

  They bid me stay and ne'er depart;

Now you are not the eternal longing

  Of my dull, blinded heart.

Filled with the indescribable treasure of life;

You no longer possess the key to my spirit,

Thus can never again cause me strife.

Forget the crosses of days and the dots of a phase,

Let go of me from the stubborn grips of thy mind;

Find thyself content;

In remembering me, Relent!

For I have regained my soul.

I honestly think this one has a lot of potential, it's brave taking something like Wuthering Heights to give a poem the title of 'Heathcliff' but I do like this. A lot.
