Simply Complicated

Simply Complicated

A Poem by Hope

I'm being questioned, reviewed and questioned even more;

All I have done is what I have been taught,

All I have done is what I have been told.

I'm being questioned and called in for things that need no attention;

All I ever see are the things that need addressing,

All I ever see are the things that cannot possibly be permissable.

I'm being questioned and critically criticized for the actions I know to be necessary;

All they care about is their reputation,

All they care to take care of are the easy problems no one minds taking care of.

Why am I being questioned?

Why am I the one being put in the criminal's spot?

Why is it that they never listen to the difficult problems?

It is simply complicated;

They know we have something that they will never understand,

They don't have the key that we possess to close up the lurking abyss following us

     Every step of the journey.

We possess the answers to many crucial questions,

We have found the relationship that will forever last.

This relationship which was founded upon mercy, grace, and love, we will never fathom.

We are crucified because that is what happened to him.

We are mocked because of the pride being covered up by the crucial,

    Reputational facade of modern times of discretion.

He gives life abundantly;

He severed death completely;

He is glorified and praised while the others are mortified and ashamed in His presence.

It is His truth that speaks to us all too clearly for our hearts,

He pushes us when we cannot go any further on our own;

When giving up seems all too appealing, the little miracle reminders come to us as

     Little children do to their parents with that sweet, innocent, small voice.

Why do certain events perpetually revisit our lives as unwelcome guests?

Why are we bombarded with unkindness?

Why do we always strike a dissonant chord in many compositions?

Why do we never go outside our comfort zones and grow?

We will never be able to solve such the simple problem

     If we never stand up and answer the pressing matters.

I am glad you have found strength in your faith! In particular I enjoyed the lines: All I have done is what I have been taught,

All I have done is what I have been told.

Well written!
