Secret

Secret

A Poem by Hope

English assignment: ekphrastic poetry ^_^

No one can see the past I hide;

I seem fine, and yet l I writhe.

Shall I tell you, or remain?

My soul, you see, and countenance

will tell thee naught of recompense.

A single rose I hold, unfold.

In the secret garden cold;

in his soul I will condole.

It is such a beautiful poem. Short and sweet- emotionally poignant. And the best part is the image is such a perfect add on to the poem. I wonder how no one has read and commented on this poem. I really liked it. Hope you continue writing such good and sweet poems which have the ability to put forth a lot of emotions in minimum number of words
