A Confession of Imperfections

A Confession of Imperfections

A Poem by Hope
"

A prayer to the Lord about how beautiful his creation is, then it goes on to pray for someone else who I like but he doesn't know it. The remaining lines of the poem is confessing to God what I feel and how I act around him. It then ends with a prayer fo

"

From sunrise to sunrise

Your beauty astounds my eyes

How loving your fatherly compassion and justice is

Careless and dazed I have gone about my days

Yet still you take me in and deal with me according to your ways

I have wrecked your temple, profaned your name and walked away

Yet here you are listening to every word I say

You are God and when I asked for forgiveness you gave it as an undeserved gift

The clouds were cleared

Bless his life like you have mine

Mighty Lord, show him mercy according to your great love

How beautiful his eyes

Like the stars shine in the night

I hear his voice echoing, such a welcoming tone

Then i snap back into reality:

I am not here for he, of whom I speak

I know I should speak

But no words come to me

My heart goes silent and my mind goes blank

Everything i say becomes obloquy

So I walk away, stung by the philippic glance I received

My words are my enemy

His blue voice echoes like a clarion clangor

My heart races up to its zenith, then

As I gaze into his eyes once again

All goes silent

His music so therapeutic

His faith, unequivocal

His eyes as vast as the ocean

The wind around me:  the waves of emotion I drift upon

The sound of the needles become mnemonic

How eloquent his manner and how loud my silence

My verticality stretches above towards the heavens

And thus I cry out in longing for you my Lord!

How marvelous your work

How great your love is for me

May he know much of love, grace

Repentance, kindness and guidance

Give him your love according to your grace and mercy

Oh how I love all that you have showed me about him

Oh how I long to see him satisfied in your will

Bless his life like he has mine

Send your angels

Embrace his soul

May he not fall back into of old

May he continue,

May he love

May he never know of

    my appreciation and gratitude

I am a bit confused, but from what I did understand of it I am moved. I enjoyed this. It seems very personal, like it will mean what you meant it to mean only to you. I appreciate this, because it seems like one of the few examples of poetry on this website that is a true expression of your feelings, written in such a way that it is simply beautiful. Thank you.
