In a season of dreams

In a season of dreams

A Poem by Xander Sinpatrick

I had a dream
I was not afraid
I had a dream
I was allowed to forgive those who hurt
I had a dream
That you were there
Loving me like you had once before
I had a dream
That everything was ok
I had a dream
That it was all meant to be

Then I woke with a message in my head
I woke with a feeling that seemed so foreign
I was happy
I was free
I was home

I was told to begin a new life
I was told to stop craving mental disasters
I was told I am very special in the eyes of very special people
I was happy
Happy to know that I am
Happy to know that I am free

So after that dream
I was not afraid
I was not sure of what to do
But I knew I was going to open my eyes from now on
I knew I was being guided to a new path
A path leading somewhere as of now unknown
But knowing it must be the right path

After all is was a dream
A dream of a future that I was going to lead
After all I am now on that path
To a happy place in clouds

Never will I look back
Never will I fall back to the place I failed to find perfection
Never will I cry again
Only tears of joy will be in the eyes of those who know

I had a dream
That has finally set me free
