Footsteps Breath

Footsteps Breath

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

I want to be writing something to top "Metronome" right now, but I ended up writing a short, simple poem instead.

"

Footsteps breath

At the foot of the mountain

At the hands of the clock

The bodies of water

And man’s fingers that flock

From the grains of the grasslands

And the fern, wheatgrass and stalks

The arms of the branches

The eyes of the hawk

As the night sky dances

A skyline of dots

The heart of the country

The fat of the land

The blood of heavens

The sweat of the sands

The face of the cliffside

The crown of the trees

The voice of the wind

And the whistling leaves

As the skyscrapers trapeze

The seven ebony seas

The day that grows longer

Than the shadow it breeds

The hand painted dreams

Clouds of well oiled greaves

Webbing heaven’s to weave

The depths which we leap

Our footsteps that breathe

As we bend in the breeze

Great imagery and you cover the whole universe ! I really like the phrase “ hand painted dreams” ( since I am an artist…..) “ seven ebony seas” these stand out in my mind’s eye…
Well done

Wonderful imagery and considerably shorter than your usual writes. As I have the attention span of a gnat at times, this suited me better. An enjoyable read Sinister.

Glad you enjoyed it, that means a lot to me.
This is a wonderful poem, R.J. I tend to enjoy writing that has evocative images and paints a tangible 3 dimensional world. You did a very good job doing that with this piece of your work. There is a mystical quality about it. It is more then the imagery it presents. Thank you for sharing your work.
