NewbornA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)This poem is really dark. You've been warned.Newborn
Miasma’s manifestation leads me home again A little bit of life goes a long way It sputters out like a pulse A half-lifeline which I cannot read between A lost dream of some time before, above my head Dreamcatchers of comatose people who caught up with death And finished first, running through their lives On the path to victory Sometimes on the way home after a hard day says farewell I remember what it felt to dwell in the depths of hell All too well The voice of a miscarriage Still waters run so deep you could drown if you're not careful Some people are just born to fail Some people don’t get to choose To live or die They never got to race with the sands of time Never were they not yet buried alive I drag my body through the mud And I feel like so many corpses have before Newborn
