Norse Ying Yang

Norse Ying Yang

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

Tried playing with Norse mythology. I will come back to this later, when I have the time to perfect it.

"

I have white and black palms, and colour the sacrament of my faculties between

People jump to the earliest conclusion they can to hate me

Recreate me to the tune of their own statements, my funeral, their illusional synonyms dwindling in privileges imprisoned in the thicket of their words

Yggdrasil silicon in the synagogue bottomless abyss that torturous priests of the present feed to breed the Nidhogg of a Ragnarok apocalypse in the Norse sarcophagus in the world trees esophagus as the trachea coughs Solomon’s solitude and frolicking in the faltering feud of nooses knotting rotten rooted armageddon inauguration weaponizing diagonal draconian stones of worship forsaken in the rape of man by his god’s sodomy like a Nidhogg again

I screamed raw until my voice grew malignant fingers and tore out my vocal cords

Sit fixated stillness in the vermillion mildew let loose gruesome voodoo communion illuminating ruminations

A Veridian prison glistens relinquishing in the village preying without forgiveness on all these low souls

That lie in their piety six feet deep

And creep through defecated dedicated deforestation decimating deformation accumulation accusative riddled in the dirt flourishing flowers of powerlessness

I will plant myself like an antler in the ground

And ransom the anthem of humanity

And sing my insanity until I’m buried coffin carrion optimism imprisoned provocative velociraptor in the forest floor I was grown on, and carried across upon my back Baphomet into my tomb of sacrilegious boons malthas

Because I’ve lost my roots in this hell

And we’re rotting in here in the dirt

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.

Hey there, again! So, this one is a little shorter than your usual trains of thought. I'm a fan of Norse mythology, so I thought I'd see what I can get out of this one. I don't think you need to say "Ragnarok apocalypse," because you're basically just saying "apocalypse apocalypse," right? I do like the sound of "apocalypse sarcophagus," though. Also, why are you mentioning Solomon in a poem that's Norse-centric? Didn't quite make total sense to me. I do like the overall feel of this, though, it's obviously apocalyptic and has a feeling of inevitability about it. One thing you might want to consider -- after Ragnarok, a new world gets created. I don't know if you want to end on a maybe-hopeful note, but just think about it.
