![]() Here I amA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)![]() Another long and skinny poem. Keep in mind, I hate writing long and skinny poems, I find them uninteresting. But other people enjoy them, and I have a concussion. So I'll leave the epics for later.![]() Here I am, in all my insanity Here I am, trapped in calamity I counteract to the attacks Catch the eyes and pull them from their sockets The lashes on the lids commit secreted seething The sharp blade piercing my Ifrit The morning spreads machetes on my flesh I grasp at my wounds, and spoon feed the blood rush Here I am, in all my animosity Here I am, trapped in my apocalypse I feed myself medicine, clammy Abaddon I see clouded depression, damning Armageddon But I’m still here, peering through the clearing in the trees and Finding reasons, leaving awake Burned at the stake I will not break, you are mistaken Here I am, in all my humility Here I am, ability frigid in the killing fields I will push through, and just be I will believe in my conceit, I will be the victor of defeat I will reach the mountains peak I will spit rigid ludicrous with every word I speak I will find redemption, apprehended, unaffected Suffering suffocates, but I comprehend it Here I am, in all my vengeance Here I am, anguish lavish, pretentious Pretending to be as strong as a stone, as tall as a tree Crushed coal in the fire, no diamond I’ll be But I will whittle away at every day with everything I will bring darkness to the shade until we all fade away Continents of cement hold my heart together Obelisks of existence mould my world untethered Here I am, an avalanche of conflict, an earthquake of nature Here I am, salvation waits on knife’s edge of creation Here I am, congregated observation, sunlight’s head chopped off and cremated Here I am, crimson stained in my statements, rolled up in containment, buried in hatred I will continue, I won’t obey, I will breathe in my lesions, a legion, a free man, until my last day Here I am, kept at bay in decay, here I am, until my soul fades away © 2019 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
