Homo-sapienA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)A poem consisting of 26 haikus. I tried to use this poem to speak of humanity, as well as myself. And the neutrality of being human. A combination of good, and bad, as well as our treasure, Earth. Some misunderstood I am not made out of wood But steel conviction I fight no more wars I am no blind tactician Hate has no finish There is no winning Such a lonely, decision With no beginning Forget your sinning Turn back from oblivion Continue living Others exist for strength We rely on each other Our brothers say Love’s foundation Is a steady creation Envisioned for all To comprehend death To heed life’s beauty breathing Speaking of freedom To taste that meaning Or dwindle frigid feelings To be a machine Or accept all beings As humanities equals Both good, and evil For we are all here We remain people, human Each notes in music Heard as one for now In togetherness just to Everlast endless Featherless angels Bright-eyed devils, remember We are still real If we cannot feel For another heart of man Then we’ll never heal The blood on our hands Pain we’ll never understand To the last of man Let us walk time’s sands Shed as we ruin God’s plans Dead at our last stand As we kill these lands And we make such greedy demands Never comprehend So live for your friends And find your own end faithful Stay neutral, graceful For we were not born To be flawless, or hateful Devil or angel Don’t be mistaken We are homo-sapien Full of love, and hatred And though we might say We are a great creation God’s only lonely He’s losing patience We’re floating in cold stasis Silently waiting Desperately distant Insistently persistent Gone in an instant With our purposeless Opinions of worthlessness Or hearts of gold, cold In a priceless world Our difference, omniscient All souls, sufficient To give witness to Skies of blue, colour, perfect Lies and truth, reused Mother Earth alive Colonized, collected, ours One planet, called home © 2018 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
