I can StillA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)A little poem I made when I was struggling, but managing.I’ll be the monster you wish I was It tortures me, takes away my sanity Makes me wonder how much their paid, and why they waste their life away, the people made into slaves to an idea that never made sense to me For them, it was direct and effective I may be on my last legs, but maul me, shape me, poison me, sedate me, and I can still live life Kill me, rape me, and I can still hate Until the lies say goodbyes, the lice, the leeches will breach my mind and live within my insides Eating away my yesterday’s Disappear in the preaching fear feasting on the yeast of passing dismembered years like laughing at the tears that yearn to disappear in the shattered mirror leaving behind a wet sweat I can never shed from dead skin, never forget Sometimes people don’t get what they deserve, but occasionally they do get what they ask for, I got what I wanted, my own disaster Abandon me, but I’ll continue managing, plaster myself back together, with ink, pages, and savagery. Heal my wounds over time, cherish my soul with rhymes, never surrender forever, fight until the ending, and I can still bleed Sooth me with the brutality of broken, and my lips will soak in the suicide, speaking hollowly of insanity within reality already spoken Step forward, look upwards, trek onward, speak my words, star-struck, and I can still share I may be a rusted weapon, but sharpen me, oil me, and I can still cut Isolate me, neglect me, hurt me, desert me, and I can learn little, and feel nothing but bitter And if you accept me, correct me, perfect me, maybe even a broken neglected heart like I can still love © 2018 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
