PavementA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Everyone deserves to stand on their own accomplishments, their own failures. Not others. No one deserves to be walked on by others.Trying to make a statement But I’m buried in the pavement A stagnant vagrant impregnated with the mention of a tensionless venture into the skies The sunrise in my eyes, the clouds from up high, wave goodbye to ground rebound found in the white blue expanse a romance with the chance to try to make a statement But my imagination will never save me When I’m buried in the pavement Captured in the rapture, manufactured for my masters, born to be a b*****d, considered a disaster I couldn’t give a s**t Within it, this reality for sinners, who are the real winners? The ones who sink in the stink of their own depression and face crap Or the ones who turn away from that The ones that are put back in their place Or the ones who face nothing, and know no more than an ounce, a gram of suffering Who is something, and who is bluffing? Who makes up the pavement to be walked upon, rained down on by the feet that eat away at their every day, and state the play by play, and the words we say, and the dreams at bay are silenced, because a demons violent way is the life of a prodigy? A king? Do we bring suffering simply to say we can? Worth nothing has the tar you made been betrayed by the man it obeys? What am I? How would you feel now if I tear your world down? How do you feel if I don’t allow you to speak out, and shout my obscenities to eleven am, and still go to heaven? How would you feel if you were tortured and raped simply to create a safe place for cowards? How will you cope with the pain, a damaged brain throughout the hours? What higher power would be there to say a prayer for you? Will people be aware, will they care for you when you're tattered, ripped, frayed, poisoned, kicked in the face to be kept at bay like a beast, while they revel in your defeat? How would you feel if I tore your world down, and made it the foundation of mine, and had the spine to walk all over you How would you feel, if you were the pavement, concrete, the foundation, under everyone as the statements walk all over you? How would you feel then? © 2018 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe) |
