Dream of mineA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Ideas can change, they can be given, even after the one who originally shared them is gone, they can still be strong, expanded uponDestroy me, annoy me, avoid me, show me the cold shoulder I grow bolder show my sorrow on the shore drowning in my questions, my morals, needing a rescue, borrow something, growing lowly from the soil, what do I live for? What soared above has now been buried below, knowing only the world that blew away like a bullet ricocheting off reality and fading broken like the glass, cowardly I peer through my windowed room, happiness is see-through never to believe you, the life a dreamed tomb, I was the accused amusing the murderers until the curdling burdening in my mind decided to leave, say goodbye, ride away into the sunlight, and fight for my rights despite my dead soul, my cold eyes I’ve seen the end that will come to me, I wait for the day I bleed internally and pass away eternally I live a lie following the truth standing tall over the abuse until I’m bullet proof and no noose will let loose a quick death, my breath left me second guessing messing with the left wings and the right fighters, I pull out my own lighter, and smoke my spite in this cold fire, wire my own electric chair, it’s only fair when you don’t even care, when fair isn’t aware, wouldn’t dare to share a pair a cig, a drink, a cent, a word, a thought, a dream, a theme with you I am left with the things in front of me, I will believe continually in my own form of insanity as my humanity demands from me a reprimanding standing on my candied words until the moment I’m heard I will pretend to be sweet in an existence so bitter, so sour, but I’m no coward, I’ll take a cold shower and water the flowers until happy hour Through the bird cries of homicide, through the war inside my mind, through the sounds leaving me grounded, through the hatred, surrounded, just have to allow it, no way around it, leave things the way I found it Astounded pounded I found it in my heart, pain, regrets, dark pieces of me left, a new start through the art of my sorrow, drowning the world tomorrow in the light of a new futures moon I assume someday my dreams will be realized, they’ll survive under the knife Someone else’s eyes will see the sunrise, while I cry, someday people will decide with their own lives And finally see mine, a cloud on the horizon Nothing to cry on, let bygones be bygones A dream of me will stay strong long after I’m gone Maybe I was a dream in a velvet sky all along, an eye blind lined, survived, see my pride Pretend to realize myself. Seen by new sights, new lights, someone else, help me feel felt © 2018 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
