A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

Do nothing and stay seated, protected? Or stand for what you believe in and face prejudice and judgement? Do we mean so little to you? Do we even matter?

"

Skimming through the world life has been giving me living stricken bare scared swimming in a dream a nightmare affair an epidemic epidemy just a hair off the reality around me, totality oblivion sitting in my chair, morality just finality on the place never erased from my mind, designed for the blind seen without eyesight for some blight might take it back in the fright of the night, the vision that found me, white lights, with repetition like every religion cursing loudly growling grounding myself to flowery language, rehearsing planted among the praying mantis, I sit with one thought on my mind, stay seated, nonchalant though the havoc and learn to manage the pain I see, and unregrettably, turn a blind mind to the feed bleeding feelings through the ceiling

Watching through the anguish so savage and wild, I could pick it from the ground and make a salad of denial words from my growing themes bile my dreams like cabbage pretending to smile to be more than average in this avalanche, the top of the pile, buried alive let the world ravage me, let it cleverly deceive me breath me in, blow me out and leave me grieving, make me believe in the word weaving seasonal meaning freezing with my cold truths believing in justice but I still remain seated bound while I’m cheated cold, chilled, unneeded, unless for now

Thrilled to continue burning with my gasoline heresy dreams savagery heated, obscene mistreated since 14 lighting the wooden chair in the green below the noose the suicide alive like a firefly a scene words I pick and choose describe crying out my alibi you could have heard, deciding why a sour mind would find how are my bruises let loose in the abuse, that flies in the circumcised smoke that realized it’s voice, spoke, a token of the mind behind my lines that still decides to ride the waves of another flooded day of memories while the people stay seated and and watch wordless, effortless, beaten, as I’m mistreated as if they don’t see it, seated

The cruel realities that inhabit me, a pool of pain fallen like the rain I am, insanity dripping words to water the birds a murder of crows, feeding the worms below the dirt like a rabid fiend, I’m an average joe, just another horse ridden by the cavalry allowing me to still be seen as cowardly, running on calories no celery or celebration breathed, needed and cleaved into bite-sized pieces by this nation like medicine for the diseases that leave you staying seated, nothingness is your only creation watching while I’m beaten, eaten minds like vegetation

Let me be the one bleeding, through the inflation, defeating my demons, naming em, screaming with all my being, chaining em down and pounding them into the ground with my fists tack tacking with every sound, careening into a world on a cold evening cloud seeing me as a beast bloodied still dreaming for treason for every breath I’m breathing, leaving me to my own problems, no way to solve them, call them what I deserve, the words needed to be heard by my ears, the nerve, you don’t know my problems or me, appearing taking everything dear, starving for some carving of an idea leaving you elitists staying seated, because you’ve never solved one eh son? So I guess I’ll see ya

Let me fight a world that took everything I loved and shoved its broken body honestly into my arms my blood cold as the fall mud harnessing my right to continue writing as I should and start finding the missing pieces climbing inside me binding what you see between careening within beginning to see the ceases of the past broken behind me, slowly unwind me, become me and pretend you’ve done something, sign my spirit with your lyrics like acidic wisdom sulfuric acid I’ll mirror it with all of my voice, someone small that pretends to be massive, because I had a choice, and I stand for it, I hope you can hear it and remain seated, placid like an island of closed eyelids, while I bleed madness, because I’m free to do as I please, I call dibs, this is my choice, let me have it, give me this addiction, this disease

Please remain seated while my spit ripples off the supple unpredictable precipitative rituals nutritional like some other mother’s n*****s with my lyrical miracles literally with, figuratively the s**t, sensational residual video of the real world beneath the garbage lid we live on, please remain seated until the movies over, the show gone, and then forget what you saw, move on, despite the stains of alcohol you remain sober, asking is it over? Giving me the cold shoulder like a snow boulder please stay seated until the morning, fold over and show clovers lucky duck, heartless soldier

Do we mean so little to you? Do we even matter at all?

Please remain seated while the world burns me like a supernova without a f**k

Please remain seated while words beaten into my skull write my blood upon the walls

Please remain seated when the reaper call’s when it’s time for me to fall

Please remain seated while I’m defeated all over again, pretend I’m a fiend and ruin my dreams with your dopamine

Please remain seated, don’t help me in the end, don’t defend me, let them cut me, rend me, end me, send me to the devil and level with the words he said, laughing at me, the words I bled

Please remain seated through the frequent bleakness, your absent-minded devotionless  sarcophagus rotten mist, divided emotionless weakness, while you enjoy your poison, chocolate bliss

I ask myself, if I remain seated, do I really care? Do people still feel the fear as I watch in the mirror as they take what is dear, down another beer and say the CGI suicide wasn’t real enough for them

If I remain seated, aware of what’s wrong and what’s fair the hurt that’s been shared like blood in the air, taste the aroma, just stare and stay seated

What’s gone? The human bonds in your heart moving on while their destroyed in despair, like death that we wear, being able to bear the flare of indifference, unmoved watching omnipotent sickness wicked vindictive liquid ambiguous fiction restrictions

I’ll tell you a secret if you remain seated, you don’t see me as an equal my friend, and all that you are, is a means to an end, a curtain call with no human will at all, an emotionless thrall, another dick in the stall

Please remain seated, and ask yourself the questions your willing to send, you emotionless men, again and again?

If I remain seated, was that pain, that future, that torture, that devotion, that abortion, that wrong, that reality badly gone long on enough, that patch that got rough, this serene scene I witness witless with my eyes peeled even real?

Tough, I guess people don't care, because if we remain seated while the world moves forward, and this poem is forgotten in boredom, I’m sorta hoping to steal your minds, make you aware open and show them and heal the lies the barriers are buried behind below them, broken, if our emotions stay sealed, unspoken?

I’d be dead if I there would be no meaning, acceptance, bowing my head to prejudice just doesn’t seem real to me, I know who I wanted to be, the way things need to be, the future that needs to be, only have four pairs of four words to read left in the depth of one breath, before death you see

Do we still feel? Is there anything left? Is this still real? Is this ok, set?

I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.

You have a knack to combine words and make them sound wonderfully beautiful. And it likes your words were coming right from your heart. You already stole my mind and your poem surely won't be forgotten in boredom. Nice writing!!!!!!

"There are only one in hundreds who write the best poems,
But there are only one in thousands who inspire through their poems.
You know it well who you are,
But still you are unaware."
