Living In Your ShadowA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)A feeling I have when I see all the people suffering in this world, be it under cruel governments, horrible human beings, no food or water, or pollution that destroys the very world we live in.It’s time to raid the gates of saints with our blades in hand Elastic bands that demand flexibility and have hostility over the eulogy never written The respect never given, the neglect, the inquisition, the way we’ve been living driven by the pain of oblivion, man’s world is slowly killing him How can they decide to judge how we want to die Why would they despise a suicide after a hard life and force us to change how we live our days? Why should I change my ways, when you do nothing to save us today? God’s hand crushes us in the clutches of a tyrant allianced with death, that’s what's to decide our last breaths? Hell no, f**k that, unless you can respect the bombs that drop on our world, and neglect the wars, the hatred, mother nature cries unfurled, take away the lives of boys and girls send us a referral Hurl us into a place where we matter, despite damage already done, to a glass world made to shatter, I still couldn’t put this place any higher up on the latter We may not be as gaseous as Jupiter or have rings like Saturn, but we are sentient intelligent and worship the sky for a reason, asking just why everyone’s battered A good god should care, lead, but look what you’ve gathered A race full of hate, humanity scattered © 2018 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
