Fighting the Big OneA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Just a poem I wrote while I was feeling a little sick.Fighting the Big One
I’ll take you down even if it’s frowned upon What you did was wrong even if it made me strong Lies are eaten up like French fries, you may arise victorious No ones wants to help me in the goriest battle between a boy and a million people Because your so glorious it seems like everyone is your loyalist At the core I’m just nothing, in this rough and tumble world, I’ve hurled everything I have at you I can’t leave a dent to prevent my defeat, I’m spent, I can’t live on like this, though I’ve dreamt of something better Nothing compared to you, a book against one letter, a lit match dispatched by an ocean, was that necessary? I go through the motions but I’m just a light about to go out A sprout pulled out about to wither and shiver in the cold of winter A splinter of hope in your hand that couldn’t make you bleed the truth A man going to prison who never did the deed, a sleuth that never caught the killer I wish I could be freed from this responsibility, but I know how this horror thriller ends My frailty is clear to see defending myself in your gale force winds, I’m blown away that everyone accepts this sin The tides have swallowed me whole, and stolen the fire in my heart I’ve had enough of your bull, your full of yourself, cannot every think of anyone else, but I’ll at least start to shoulder the ones you tormented I wish I could have prevented this, but you never relented, with life thriving, why do you feel the need to spend it? About to go and show you that even a burnt out match can leave a scar I can’t stop smouldering now, I’ve gone too far © 2017 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
