Trail Blazer

Trail Blazer

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

We must lead the younger generation through life, and then they will lead the next, on a trail towards understanding and knowledge.

"

Trail Blazer

Blaze the trail

Without fail

Every step, rock, and rusty nail

Push forward with bodies frail and souls strong

Breath in the stale air

Between what's wrong and fair

Experiences that can't be shared

Where we go no one knows so trek through snow prepared

Every staircase every stair

Every struggle every care

Blaze the trail

Like it's new

If your soul is old your mind's still true

Trek until your cheeks are red and your feet are blue

Until your life is over and your breaths gone too

Until you've forgotten what you've already been through

Until you've seen more of nature than at a zoo

And more of life than god planned to

Until you’re exhausted

And you feel like you've lost it all

Vision bleary and your body falls

Look back at your footsteps across the horizon

Rising across the land your path will open up

Like a helping hand, broken ones without luck will follow

With hearts hollow but filled with determination

People this world could have killed will move forward

For truer words have never been spoken

A new way of thinking has awoken because of you

You left your mark on the world

You trail blazer

I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.

The rhythm and rhyme scheme is so nice this could pass for a song lyrics, you just need to find the right composer to add the music. The moral of your poem is inspirational and told in way everyone should enjoy it. Bravo! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

Very important anthem poem for the older generation to be ome leaders again. Great form, flow, and rhyme. "Look back at your footsteps across the horizon"-such a meaningful line. We held ourself to high values. We marched, we marched. Time to march again. Thank you for deeply relevant, moving and powerful poem. Kudos!
