Meadows and Bonfires (Two Sides of the Same Coin)

Meadows and Bonfires (Two Sides of the Same Coin)

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

Half dark poem, half uplifting. This is two poems that make up the sides of the same coins. About Meadows and Bonfires

"

The voice is dead in my head I see infinite red

Gliding across a sea of blood like Jesus walks on water

We're all fodder for slaughter in these waters

I fathered my doubts and painted my ruin

No one heard my shouts, I feel the meaning of resolution

Through my tattered body, I feel your pain I can never take it away

In my twisted mind, I see your sorrows and I can never look away

In my petty existence, I live through your mistakes and I can never run away

From the madness, the grayness I hate how I have to say this no way to repay this memory

All my enemies are gone so why am I empty?

I had plenty of fun looking at the pain of others

I shackled my brothers, killed my lovers

I should feel happy but my sins hover above my head with weight of the world

How many boys and girls have I killed

I remember the first time I felt thrills, chills, excitement

Thinking back now, I wonder what they thought?

Do they feel the same way I feel now?

Regret? Confusion? Shame? .... Fear?

In the dark cave by the forever fire they call me a liar

As I tell them about all the sons I fried

The people from above have forgotten me

Because no one looks down

Burning soul

Full of life

Lend me your light

Making my eyes bright

Giving me the sight I need to make things right

Take flight through the pillows in the sky

Fly through the the winds' cry

Take me to a better place

Where bodies don't bleed

Where I won't need eyes to see

Where I can become everything I can ever be

And watch the seed of mankind breed a sea of unparalleled beauty

Bring me to a place beyond dreams

A play beyond themes

A meadow beyond green

A place that teams with love

The fabric of life at the seams

And if there's ones up above who can share my love then I won't be scared

I think I'm prepared to share a better life with friendly people who fly through meadows like doves

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
I hope you enjoy this poem. It was fun to write two stories about completely different people and experiences, yet still, share strands of a theme among them.

I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.

Darling.
Once you've made it through torrential rains without shelter or an umbrella, the rest is a piece of cake.
