A Path That Could Lead You Anywhere

A Path That Could Lead You Anywhere

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

The path of life

"
The paths we walk make us strong
Strengthening legs and ideals
That can do right or wrong

Legs stretch forward towards the horizon
Sharing a journey can defeat our demons and bygones

Our hearts beat onwards
To the breath of life
Pushing us forwards
To do what we think is right

Walking this path is tough
Keeping the end in sight is rough

Some paths end too soon
While others stretch on forever

Everyone's path is different
With bumps and difficult sections in different places
Problems that need corrections
And the constant races against others on different paths

The start is different for every person
Same thing with the end
Still, you could say we all experience the same thing

Whether your at the top of the world
Or just a dreamer

Even those who have done wrong
Walked the same paths as you and me

Even if cruelty is the only thing they could see
Know that if you take a wrong turn that`s the same kind of person you could be

Everyone walks this path
Even if we all see it through different eyes

The best we can do is not break or bend
And hope the same for all our friends

Our paths in life could take us across the world
Or we could be stuck in the same city

Paths that no one cares for
While others consider everything

Paths that people could look up to
While others pity

Paths that could be traversed with feathered wings
Or through small, difficult steps

The path might seem ugly and forbidding
Or even strikingly pretty

The path is based on your perception after all

One where you may run or you may crawl

Where some rise and others fall

And whether or not you even eventually find meaning in it all

This path is yours alone to walk

So put one foot in front of the other and walk forward

On a path that could lead you anywhere

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
Just a poem about life. A little mundane for a topic of poems I think, but I want to know what you think of this poem as well.

I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.

The message of this poem is vivid and clear. Clearly written by someone that has gone through the paths of life and is someone that everyone can learn from. Nicely Done!

And thank you for reading. I'm glad you liked it!
Critique: (The start is different for every person, same thing with) the same thing - identifying word needed
(Paths that could be traversed with featherd wings) feathered

Review: I can't remember the last time I read a poem someone use the word bygones, nice word usage. You sentence structure is a little ruff, when you have long and short sentences together they alter the read rhythm. Judge for your self, you read short lines faster and not just because there are fewer words. Timing flow when you read is more important than most people know, think back on reading your favorite book and how easy it was to read because it flowed. When the timing is right it all but reads its self, it sets a rhythm that is almost hypnotic, judge for yourself. As a whole the poem has a dynamic that impacts readers and a moral that everyone should appreciate. Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

I'm not too good with format unfortunately. If you see a spot in any poem that needs work and stands.. read more
This reminds me of the poem The road not taken by Robert Frost. Paths are not same for everyone that's true. Very thoughtful I truly liked it. It has a good flow, rhythm and message as well.

I am sure you will like it too....you are welcome :)
I really enjoyed this - life can be a rocky ride but your absolutely right we all have to walk our path alone, over the bumps and dangerous sections - but hopefully with lots of clear, safe, beautifully scenic paths along the way - well done :) good stuff
