RainA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Just a poem about rain, and the mistakes we make. It's a dark day out The storm is raging on Lightning makes the sky melt With winds stronger than family bonds The clouds try to hide sky's that would be sunny everyday Like a protective parent hides a child Crystals of spirits Water falls like tears from god Raining down like fears on the poor dogs below The rain doesn't care about you or me The rain shackles the pain of mortal men to our backs Feeding us nourishment we need to ruin the lives of others When it comes to hate and cruel deeds Humanity will never be free That is crusted dirt even rain cannot clean. Those who are too weak to fight will drown in pain The rain is too cold to save a world that's insane Those who call themselves strong will water the ground with blood Nurturing flowers of hate. Swallowing god's gifts Leaving the earth dry, and the lakes mud Destroying everything god or humanity could create Some people wish for the rain to stop Singing "rain, rain go away" and that kind of s**t Other people seem to think throwing money into the air is "making it rain" But Rain is not just there to nourish our plants. It's so much more than that Rain is proof of pain, tears cried from the eyes of those who see it all Rain is compensation for humanities sins Our gods and ancestors are remorseful over the sick acts we commit They cry over the cruelty of the living below They feel our pain, our emotions, and wish for better We call this rain Rain is a reminder that we could, and should, be better. That we should care And help others instead of shunning or hurting them To remember not to care about your wants and desires more than the needs of others To not be narcissistic, self indulgent, or prejudiced A reminder that we refuse to be better even though we know what we do wrong And they wonder why we make the same mistakes they did, when causing hurt can be so easily avoided Rain can clean away your pain, and heal the earth It can nourish the body, and feeds the mind It can free your soul But it can't get rid of our wrongdoings. Only we can fix these mistakes © 2017 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
