WrinklesA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)An old man reminiscing about being a husband and fatherWrinkles The sun is hot, the rivers cold I'd go for a swim, but my bodies old I played with friends, I lived my life, I bought a car, I met my wife I bought this house, with my spouse, where we raised a family Now all there is for me to see, is what my grand kids will turn out to be I'd get up from my chair, but I don't care, because I don't need to be anywhere All that ever mattered was right here, I reach down for another beer It was beautiful My wife, my son, my daughter growing up in this very home Happiness is all I've known I'd watch tv, but it's not free, for every channel there's a fee I'd rather look at memories My wife is gone, she's passed on, somewhere in the heavens I hope they treat her well I love her more than anything I have a photo of the four of us on the wall, when our kids were still small Now my son has grown up so tall My daughter's married to a man I still can picture as a young boy The thing I remember most is their smiles I'm old now, and they smile just the same Mine is too except for the wrinkles
