Sword of My HeartA Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)A poem forged from the flames of my own soulSword of My Heart Inside of my skull, I craft a sword of my twisted mind That will cut through my sorrows And leave nothing behind There are those who would say I am blind But with the sword of my mind in hand, there is no solace I cannot find Inside of my body I craft a sword of my fiery thoughts That will carve through all my anxiety Until it wilts and it rots If there is anything worthwhile that I have sought With the sword of my thoughts in hand I know it’s something I’ve already got Inside of my soul I craft a sword of my unyielding love For all that I know, friend, forgotten, or foe Shining on them like the sun from up above My sword and I go like hand and glove With the sword of my love in hand I fly like a dove From my emotions I craft a sword of my iron will My will to keep push on no matter what And live my life for fun like a glass of beer, slowly being filled I will live on and go as far through the maze of life as I can for the thrill No matter what the cost, what I’ve lost, the sword of my will and I will take me to the end of the world, up and down every hill Inside this world, I craft a sword of my life That will carry always and forever Through pain and strife It will not shake, it will not shatter Even if I break, it will not matter This sword was made strong, from the finest ore Made from my iron heart, on distant shores This sword was made sharp by a twisted mind Polished by my thoughts until it shines Made flexible by my love Hardened by an iron will And forged by the fires of my life force The sword of my heart will not be broken Even after the last words of my final poem are spoken It will always be a token To show that I existed, and when awoken It will be a memory of my forgotten soul My blade of beauty, strength, happiness, and woe Made from everything I know © 2017 R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)Author's Note
