Things Will Change

Things Will Change

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

Living with depression can be a real bummer

"

Things Will Change

I’m watching the time fly by

Like an endless stream of butterflies

Contemplating how I might die

Just makes me not want to try living anymore

It’s been so long

Since I thought I was strong

All my ambition wasn’t wrong

But now it’s all gone because

I keep on getting knocked down

Every time I recover from the tsunami of hate, bitterness, regret, and fear

I’m hit by another wave

Can’t tell what I gave to be put in this situation

My superstition is that I'm in a position

Where I can't just rely on my intuition

But I can say with precision on any condition that I'm just too damn paranoid

I’ll fight on

Because I share a bond

With some of the people who haven’t left my side yet and aren’t quite gone

But every time I stand up

I’m knocked down

And every time they smile

I frown

And I feel the weight of my sorrow, past, and pain every damn day down to the last pound

I’d feel my best if I had a shoulder to grab onto when I’m winded

Someone to patch me up when I’m wounded in my soul

I have distant goals

But I’ll try whatever I can to pull good fortune back my way

Maybe today just isn’t my day

Because for every shred of dignity I must pay with an ounce of pain

I'm forced to give back every privilege I've gained

I’ll make it a better day tomorrow

I can deal with my own sorrow

But it’s difficult when I have twice as much to borrow from others

I just have to continue fighting,

Continue pushing

Continue writing

Until I’m struck by a reason to live like lightning

I will never lose my grip on hope until the rope breaks and my life shatters in my own hands, into pieces so small I'll never be able to glue them together again

I’ll keep holding on

And one of these days things will change

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
I'm looking for reviews right now, if you could review this that would be great, and it would be even greater if you checked out of other poems. I have plenty.

I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We should all make an effort to do the best I can.
Sometimes life is not fair with us. Everything may darken any moment, then we are left without a choice but only a blank sapce full of darkness.
But we dont have to give up, greatest destinies are achieved when nothing seems to be working at all,no break throughs

I agree with you completely. We should never give up.
A beautifully written sad poem with lots of emotions. I like your spirit of not giving up and having hope. Be like that and one day definately, will be your day.
