The Socratic Doomer

The Socratic Doomer

A Poem by sinNsincerity

I never thought that you would

wander right back into my life.

Sure did wish it.

I prayed on it.

I slaved in it.

My Mrs. Demon.

I never thought that you would

come back into my light to pull

me out of the dark.

Sure did wish it

I prayed on it.

I slaved in it.

What did you do?

Yes you.

Look at what you do.

Look at how you're treating me.

I don't believe in me.

You are my doom.

A soft spoken guillotine that let loose of

the noose and then re-commenced the

beheading of my heavy heaven heart.

Hell.

At one point,

sure did wish for this.

I prayed for this.

I slaved for this.

But now,

what have we done?

But I still love you hon,

and you know this.

such a painful tragedy to be stuck in ... cycling as a slave chained to the grinding wheel ... by self ... over and over the bits of heart shards ... ouch! very graphic read for me ..i feel this one ..tho just a "fond" memory now ... at the time pretty intense ;))

Sometimes....
No one ever said true love runs smoothly. It can hurt too much for some. Patience and forgiveness are the two things that hold them together.

God is Love

Love this! My kind of poem that expresses life struggles in real time. We chase after things we never should...end up with them then realize our folly. It shows where we grow too...love the emotion behind the words wished it, prayed it, slaved it... also loved the "what have we done?" ending. The rhythm of this piece too adds nice arms to pull you in to the snippet of life you play. Leaves a nice after taste and makes me want to read it a few more times.

Thank you Tabby, 'tis always my pleasure. The Folly of My Heart. Where do I dare to go...to have you.. read more
The twist and pull of your own confusing feelings somehow put down in words.
A soft spoken guillotine that let loose of
the noose and then re-commenced the
beheading of my heavy heaven heart.
Incredibly graphic and understandable image formed by this
It all seems so poetic and then the final lines when you refer to them as 'hon' brings it back to an everyday reality and puts it all into a horrid perspective
