Ms. Sadness

Ms. Sadness

A Poem by sinNsincerity

Fell in love with

the sadness,

which later,

became my passion.

The black became my friend.

Bested by the

light I was given.

So I caved in,

sorta like a caveman.

Then I died

again when she

glanced in.

I asked myself,

“should we dance

again?”

I couldn’t make up my mind so,

I fell back into the black

and wandered through

Wonders.

And now we’re back here,

falling in love with sadness

again.

So mote it be

It's hard to have a skill that relies so heavily on trauma, in all of its forms, to produce work that doesn't seem plastic. It's a good piece, I liked it. I think the harder emotions yield beautiful work. Of course, this calls into question the standard of beauty - but, that's a longer post. ^_^

Mine is Love.
Wonderful use of words and thoughts. You made the reader believe your words and thoughts. Easy to fall to blackness. A odd safety to it. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Always my pleasure to read your work and you are welcome my friend.
:'( This is very beautiful in a melancholy type of way. I love the darkness. And while i was reading it, I don't know if you wrote it to be like this, but it was almost like a female rock song. Beautiful

I agree. I wrote something similar years ago.. something like I allowed sadness (which was a she to me too) to crawl around inside me and I just a dark shroud to protect her... It is so easy to be befriended by sadness and darkness and to let it settle in comfortably.. to allow it to seize us completely.. and dare I say, inspire us artists all the more for it?? It is easier to cozy up to sadness than to defy it and overcome it. This is definitely an honest piece. I like it.

That's pretty awesome Alexa, I too will protect her.
Woe is thee--
where will it end?
Does it continue and grow
with wonder and love...
will the light win?
