Mother Moon

Mother Moon

A Poem by sinNsincerity

Mother Moon

All those bright nights,

alone,

I gazed up at the moon and

I knew I was gazing at you.

But the thing is that I didn't know until I met you.

My heart was blue because it was broken into two more than two times.

Two square is four and you bring joy into my life like the days when I used to play four square.

“I was within and without.”

The watcher I am, but that was the past because I was...

I am because the moon arrived and I won't lie about how it had broken me down into a cry.

Why?

Not because you are mine, but because we are a “we” and that makes me.

Honestly love, I'm not perfect.

I may not be a heart surgeon for when the heart is hurting.

Though I will always be there during the darkest moments when you don't want the sun light to peek through the curtains.

I love you because when you read my writing you think they're amazing when they're only the thoughts that drive me crazy!

I see that we're a new chapter in our life,

so I pray to God that we'll never run out of pages.

Its an emotional night for me, & this line...

"I may not be a heart surgeon for when the heart is hurting.
Though I will always be there during the darkest moments when you don't want the sun light to peek through the curtains."

Made the tears come, Love how your writing sometimes speak to me, especially when I need to hear it. Despite its from you, its still good to spontaneously read something you NEED/WANT to hear. Do you know what I mean. Thank you. I needed to cry.

Thank you hon for thinking so as well as for reading!
This is a poem sighs were made for - so beautifully soft and romantic. "I pray to god that we'll never run out of pages" - wow! A powerful ending that touched my heart.

Thank you so much Julie! That is so wonderful to hear and it makes me smile.
Thank you!
Amen to that. I like that last line, togetherness and contentment are a priceless pair. Then, there's indeed much more to the 'Mother Moon' than alliteration. She's such a guide, a comfort. This was one of those absorbing poem where almost all lines connect to the brain-wires and in different ways. The words produce some beautiful images in the mind-eyes, those about sitting lonesome on a bright night, playing four square and seeing so much of the then-hidden meaning in the game, love how you put in quotes the "I was within and without". The we are a "we" rather than you are mine line, it beautifully shows the slight difference between the lovely mutual-belonging-feeling and the despicable possessiveness. The lines about the darkest moments showed understanding, overall an adorable work.

Thank you so much for reading!
Starry influences seem to effect the noble soul. Who am I to judge whether your soul is noble? I have seen your moon in my own eyes.

It is my honor truly. ..I appreciate your talent
You have a lot going on in this one. The moon that determines your tides and reflects light and joy; the joy of innocence of four square that you convey on her; your within, living inside yourself and without of being alone; the solid-state of We; the comfortable darkness, that shields and nurtures, and that never-ending story book.
Great stuff, all of it.
