Phantoms

Phantoms

A Poem by sinNsincerity

I removed the

masquerade mask that

mimicked a mystical

kiss while everyone

around you and I

said that we shouldn’t.

Should we?

Let’s show them…

Let’s show us!

We are each our own phantoms & it's such a bold move for two lovers to decide to finally expose their relationship to the world, even if the world may not accept them. There was a dreamy kind of edge to this & it felt so raw. Great job, truly inspiring! I enjoyed the read.

That part of the line seemed seamlessly to make my skin itch with a certain satisfaction.

Thank you brother!
this poses a heavy question about the presentation of self...how many masks we wear and how brave we must be to remove then...well done

Coming out of the shadows. . Revealing emotion from behind the mask. It's always a chance to peel away the protective gear, but when your both ready it can be worth the shot. It's hard for love to reach full bloom if it's kept in the shadows.

Masks can be used to insulate feelings from the world or to insulate self from reality. When a mask is removed one reveals more about themselves than the mask ever hid. Let's show us? Only if both of US agree. Interesting philosophical question. take care...dan
