Three Years Ago

Three Years Ago

A Poem by sinNsincerity

I lost myself about three years ago.

And I can’t complain

because I just stood there and watched him go…

Was it because of me or my super-ego?

I was within -and- out of control.

I made my own disguise by just being myself.

Pretty witty! A brief poem that's meaningful, has rhymes and flow and is totally striking while also leaving some space for the readers to ponder. You've beautifully described someone changing into a new person by using the losing-old-self imagery, it's pretty much like the snakes shedding their skin. It's intriguing when you call him a disguise. Enjoyed this piece.

Simple words with honest feelings. This, I mark, as one of your best piece of works. :)

I've seen lots of people lose themselves but I have never been aware of losing myself. Perhaps I have and never realised... Or maybe it's just how we evolve. A wonderful and thought provoking write as always. :)

I'm normally not a fan of short poems like this, but this is really good for a short poem. This leaves a lot of room to think, which is really good. Full review from me, love this. Keep it up. :)
