Love

They say that love sucks,

But I’m telling you,

When I’m not loving my heart stops

And my life feels stuck.

Please disrupt this awkwardness with my odd sloppiness.

This nonsense may not mean anything to you

And I’m a wreck when I’m thinking about the tick-tocks.

I watch the clock with a stalk.

Whether I care or not,

My heart will erupt out of the cup of love,

Overflowing,

And spewing over like a waterfall.

The water falls from my watery eyes when my soul isn’t high

And it forces my heart to drop.

No eye drops for these red eyes.

It’s my time and I’ll never burn out.

While you were wishing you know how,

You realized that you’ll be trying forever.

With the sense of all,

I can’t seem to find the things to do to pass the time...

The things that interest me to get you off of my mind.

It feels like a lifetime,

More like eternity since I had you here with me.

Every moment peels away with every moment having a meaning and so do dreams.

I’m regenerating a minute so I can recover my innocence,

But also living like a prince with a deliverance of a humble wish!

There are parts of this that I thought would be great in a visual poetry style, (clock - heart drop)but as I kept reading that thought slipped and I fell back into the words. I love the line " I''m regenerating a minute, so I can recover my innocence" because I think love helps you do that. You get to wipe out the old and start again.

How a new love can help undo the the old hurt and pain left from another! I think this could also apply to friends and family. Love of any kind that is positive and true can help you start over!
