Slumber

I was awoken from a three year dream,

A slumber…

A forgotten yesterday was all I could remember.

This year of rude awakening had no problem crawling towards me.

I was in hibernation, but then I realized I was truly trapped in heartache and agony.

My winter arrived behind the summer - time and time again because my simple pondering morphed into constant wondering.

But then you found me!

My beauty, my queen, and me…?

I was just your sin in sincerity.

I was more than glad to be your anything.

Now that you’re not with me, it kills and I really wish you still were because you were more than the cure.

Just for us two to lie beside the California surf was all that I preferred.

Just wanting to get naked and I’m not at all sorry my dear because you turn me on.

I just wanted your heart without any sacrifices and you know you never had to worry about the hurt that comes with a flirt because you always came first.

Before I met you, I believed that my love was cursed.

You brought peace to me like ice tea when it’s a hundred and three degrees in Tallahassee.

You had me at, “yes please,” and your sexual offerings...

Took the best of me, the rest of me,

So the next one that comes around will ask, “Why don’t you have any love left for me?”

I put my heart and soul into someone for 5 years.

You know I can relate to this one, " so the next one that comes around will ask me,
why don't you have any love left for me" I felt this way for years after my divorce, but
no more, she will never be able to take the gift of love away from me!
The next one be blessed with love so vast, it will make the sky seem minute,
because that's what I want and more importantly that's what
