My Pearl!A Poem by Singing BirdAfter penning one for the boys my dear daughter wanted one so here it went.My Pearl!
She's troublesome and often not so very neat. Sometimes she's a proverbial pain in the seat! At times argumentative in the extreme. Her enjoyment of this evident in brown eyes that gleam.
By this alone you can tell she's quite feisty and very, very bright. So much so that I'm oft at my wit's end, wishing I had full rotating sight. All this I know can be trying, if not unreasonably wearing. It's all I can do sometimes to keep from screaming and swearing!
But this they tell me is the start of an age. Where it could for a few years become a semi permanent stage. Horrific though the idea might be. Things are drastically changing not just for her, but also for me.
My darling sweet daughter is growing faster than my backyard trees. Far prettier than peach blossom in spring bobbing in the breeze. My love and protection of her sometimes I admit can to others seem mean. But how could this mother stint when she's faced with such a lovely smile that reflects like a radiant beam.
Oh she's a proper con artist I know this fact alright! The only trouble being I must try to maintain an unbiased sight. I hope I succeed in raising my daughter in this worlds mountainous swirl. Might I just prove from the oyster you can produce a lovely pink pearl?
