An Excerpt from the Diary of Walter WoodA Story by SineadJuliaThe
cherry blossom trees swayed gently in the breeze, their pink hues illuminated the grassy field like ballerina’s twirling eloquently in the twilight. The golden glow of the sun, slowly whispering
goodnight, intertwined with the colors of the moon- creating a sunset of warm
yellow, periwinkle and peach. I closed
my eyes. The stream sang soothingly to
my ears, as it flowed leisurely to the harbor. The lemon-y aroma of the lilac
magnolias awakened my senses, and as I surfaced from my reverie, my breath was
stolen. There you were, glowing
amidst the forsythias. Your beauty radiating around me, my heart
thawed, like a rose revived from a long, bitter winter. I
took your hand, and to the lullaby of nature
we danced. The stream began to slow,
the breeze ceased to blow, and it was as if with nature we were one. Soft
whispers transpired among the silky grass blades, and the song of the
hummingbird floated lazily through the summer air as she lingered upon the
hibiscus. With each trickle of time, the baby bulbs blossomed into lovely
ladies, swaying elegantly in time with our paramour waltz. The arms of the old
oak hung as a satin veil, surrounding and sheltering our hidden love. Your
eyes twinkled in the dusk, softly
murmuring to me the secrets of your heart. As you pulled away from me to pluck
a petal from a hanging branch, your laughter jingled through the air like a
song of love and as you turned to smile at me, it was then that I knew. From
that moment on, my world was in the palm of your hands. No love would I ever
withhold from you, no secrets would be hidden from you, and there would never
be a day that I could stop loving you. © 2013 SineadJulia |
