Urticaria

Urticaria

A Poem by Sindu
"

when the affects start to show..

"
A possession of words
strung with care
enamoured with deliberation
Mind scrambled in itself
delusions held to brim
Voice choked in the cords
captive away from creativity
urticates the knight within
diseased with self doubt
Barricade the blocks within
tarnish the taint
unveil the resplendence
Enamoured with deliberation
strung with care
A possession of words.

Author's Note

Sindu
Urticaria: hives, an allergic disorder caused by contact with certain specific factors.

When I came across this word, the allergic reaction that sprang to my mind was the inability to voice the thoughts deep down. As in, how one wishes to write but cannot, have to write but stopped from putting them on paper- deliberately. These factors cause the turmoil almost like withdrawal symptoms, an allergic reaction.

I could feel this piece Sindu. We try so hard to find an order in words, you'd think our poetry would be more logical, but it always ends up being somehow supra-logical.

I think the fun of the craft is in all that effort, the intrinsic reward of pushing language and thought to another level?

Hi Sindu, a most unusual choice of words to describe mental blocks, oddly when i was in my teens i had physical Urticaria but thankfully thus far have never come to writers block, thanks for your excellent poem, bravo :)

Well, writer's block is certainly as maddening as the itch and crawling pain of urticaria.

Wow, theres some power in this write here. I liked the energy with which you've rejected constraints and given that force to pull through, it does lend itself to several other situations in life than just writing. great work. Cheers!

I loved the way you have taken out a rash with your voice which is lost somewhere deep down within, I know how badly it scratches inside and make you uncomfortable.

:) - you make me smile - I love your note ;)

when I read your authors note I understand what you are saying and of course it takes a writer many many years to refine their craft and figure out once and for all - just how to put to paper that deep down stuff and opposite to your note here I am finding the opposite effect - I find it rather addictive - drawing me back you know, almost daring me to go deep, do better, be better - I love it and hate it all at the same time - you know what I mean

But your work

I believe you have expressed it well and I like the sparsity of words - i think you can even get rid of a few more for more impact - your mind works in weaves and woves (yeah - I don'e think woves is a words but I think it fits in any case) you are lucky to be able to follow you thought and transcribe - a talent indeed

Nice one Chick XX

For a long time I was having self inflicted writers block. And the lack of writing in my life had a physical impact on my health. So many things I wanted to say. So many worlds I wanted to create. But I never picked up a pen. So the words were left unsaid and the worlds left unmade. I really like this piece you wrote. I can easily relate to it.

Its wonderful to know I will be associated with talent such as yourself through this website.
