Your loss is mine to weep

Your loss is mine to weep

A Poem by Sindu
"

how we get hurt when someone close to us goes through something bad

"
O friend o' mine
Bumbling buzzling ball of energy.
twinkling laughter; mischief filled eyes.
propellor of spirit in life.
Sadly, left as a memory of before.

O friend o'mine
drained, cooped up in a corner,
lines of strain; horror- struck eyes,
fragment of soul, tormented for life.
Painfully, b*****d of truth left after.

O friends o' mine
all who never were mine,
I comprehend a modicum of pain,
friends o' yours comprehend.
Forlorn, you lost an intricate part of you;

as did they, through you..

Any tragic situation can change a person. Let it be physical or mental abuse, accident, loss of a loved one... or family deserting; the people around them face a great loss through that person.

It is so true that when someone we love is hurting, we feel it too. Empathy is a crazy thing that way. This was such a sad poem, but still sweet because you are reaching out to those in pain in the best way you know how, hoping to perhaps take some of the burden off of them. Beautiful.

Thank you Surya!
This is a deep and moving piece. Such sadness and hopelessness is portrayed here. Watching from the side lines is a difficult burden to carry. Powerlessness is apparent here. Note-In the 2nd to last line a should be an. Thank you for sharing. Well penned.

This is well-written... The alliterations and the structure are good.
And uhh.. in the last stanza, you wrote 'modicum pain', it will be 'modicum of pain'.
Other than that, a good write.
Good to have found you :-)

Moving piece Sindu....we are indeed touched by experiences in our lives and sometimes they change us for the better, many times the opposite holds true. Well said.

Such as poetry....write on. :)
Very touching write. And, yes, people are changed by tragedy, sometime irrevocably; when that happens, it's like the person you knew… the person they were, dies.

Of course, a person can be changed by joys and love too. And, the person they become may be so radically different that those they knew before can no longer know them. As someone in this category, it can be incredibly difficult to let go of those who knew you before you found the happier you. I guess that's a kind of loss too, for those who knew the tortured me and just couldn't embrace a freed soul.

Did you mean "…a modicum [of] pain?"
