What has America come to?

I had to write a story/poem about a problem in America and I chosoe more than one. But it turned out okay, I guess...

Killing,

Lying,

Cheating,

Beating,

What has America come to?

 

Living,

Dieing,

Hungry,

Poor,

What has America come to?

 

Games out of control,

Kids get too many ideas,

What has America come to?

 

Oil leaking,

Bombing out of control,

What has America come to?

 

Scarce water,

Predatory health system,

What has America come to?

 

People beating,

On kids of their own,

What has America come to?

 

Well I guess we can believe,

The ones who we don’t trust,

Because this is America,

And this is what it has come to.

The US is so focused on individual needs that so many people in it refuse to serve one another. Life's a contest, and we've developed a loser mentality that we must be the winner, whether on an individual scale or nationwide... And as a result, we loath ourselves, our neighbors, and pretty much everything else..

Depressing message, even if it's very often true. Unfortunately, it's not confined just to America, people lie and cheat and abuse each other all across the planet. United States' citizens are just the one's who think it's normal and to be expected. So sad..

My grandpa says {cause hes been in parts of europe my times} that lots of europens think of americans as snotty.

I'm not American, but it is quite common for people in this part of the world (Australasia) to complain about the influence of American culture on our own cultures.

Political correctness, family values, violence and crime are problems everywhere. It's getting worse, everywhere. The symptoms in American are indicative of much greater social problems the world needs to address.
