Flash Back

Flash Back

A Poem by Joy Lynn B.
"

I have no idea where this came from. It's like it just came out.

"

The big flash of light,

shined through the open window,

then i hear a drop of water,

from the dark sky,

I open my eyes,

to close the open window,

I see the flash again,

and cover my eyes,

the flash back is coming,

then i hear the bang,

I scream,

try to break the cycle,

of these flashback coming in,

then I see my brother,

beside me laughing,

talking,

not knowing a life is on the line

we go through the green,

the truck goes through the red,

I wake from a come asking,

is he dead?,

my mother started to cry,

water built up in my eyes,

the flashback stopped,

so did the storm,

the last flash,

a feeling of a knife slitting in my heart,

and now,

he's gone.

solid write, the fourth stanza really carries the whole thing. You need to change "come" to "coma." Your use of imagery is also strong
