Piano Lullaby

A knock could be heard outside the door of the nurse's office as Elizabeth was still fast asleep, the nurse ws wondering who could be inside as she reached for her keys in her pocket to open the door. Opening the door she notices that the curtains are pulled back as the room was clouded with a dull darkness as she turns on the lights to brighten the room. A groan could be heard farther in the room as she slowly goes to look at the beds and see Elizabeth Taylur sleeping as she was covered in sweat.

 

The nurse felt her forehead to see if she had a fever as it was slighty a burning, getting up to run a cloth under cold water as she placed it on her head to calm her fever just as Elizabeth relaxed. Deciding to leave the room for a little minute so she could rest as the nurse would later wake her as school was almost over for the day because of the meeting.

 

 

Elizabeth awoke as the bell rang for school to let out, as she got up from the bed she saw that there was a cloth that fell as she picked it up. "What?" She noticed that the sun was facing towards the east as it was probably around 5 o' clock. Making the bed slowly, she didn't seem to notice her surroundings that everyone was nearly gone and out of the school. Sighing lightly she grabs her things but then notices that the door was already unlocked and opened slightly. Sensing that something was off Elizabeth walked out into the hall as the lights were off as the only light was the setting sun in the distance. Giving the halls a bright yellow glow with the sun reflecting against the glass.

 

Walking down the stairs lightly so she wouldn't draw attention to herself, she noticed that there was no teachers or staff in sight. The hallways seem endless with the sound of her feet against the ground surrounding her. Elizabeth didn't understand, she knew about the teachers meeting but it just didn't feel right. The sunlight was beginning to fade giving the school hallways shadows once again. A faint smell of a burning candle got Elizabeth's attention right away as it burned her nose, groaning in disgust at the smell she covered her nose and looked to see where it was coming from.

 

Finding the scent made her nostrils burn intensely with a ache throbbing in her head. What's going on? This smell is messing up my senses. Bracing herself against the wall she felt her vision being to fade, walking along the halls she noticed a small light glowing. Moving towards the light as she heard people talking within the room that the light was coming from. Going near the door she cracked it to look inside to see what was going on.

 

"Why must we wait any longer Edward?" Edward glares at the man that spoke to him in such a way as the man gulped, looking around he sighed deeply. "Because.....it is not time for the sacrifice to be harvest by Lord Shi." "But you should know Edward-sama that he will became impatient soon." "Lord Shi should know by know that the harvest cannot start until the 16 years of age."  Elizabeth's eyes widened at what her father was saying, 16 years of age.....I-I'm about to be 16 in a few more days....father couldn't mean?

 

She watched as the people around her father smirked lightly as he grinned, listening to them continue as they speaked. "In less than two days Elizabeth will became nothing more than a puppet to Shi-sama, that way no one else in the Taylur genertations will have to suffer like her mother did.....dying in a eternal sleep that Shi had wished of all our daughter's fate." Nothing was making sense, what did he mean like mom did? M-Mother fell in coma....they said she was in a accident and overdosed on her medication. Edward began to speak again as Elizabeth backed away from the door at what she heard. "Elizabeth will die in less than two days.....so everyone relax." This man wasn't her father, there was no way that she would die in two days right?

 

She had so much more to live for......to get married, have children, and became successful in life. Backing up against the wall in fear she did the only thing she could do, ran away.....away from this place that wasn't true. Hurrying down the halls she wanted to get away, from her father, this school, everything! Without her realizing it she tripped over a bucket as she came face to face to a flight of stairs. Oh God! Someone please.....help me!  She saw as the stairs were getting closer and closer to her face as she knew she would broken more than a few ribs.

 

Closing her eyes she waiting for the darkness to take her, but it never did.....she found herself on the floor below the stairs. Looking around she saw no one, but that was right. She should have been tumbling down the stairs and crying in pain,only she wasn't in any pain at all. Her hands started to tremble in fear as she screamed loudly, tears burning her cheeks as she tried to held herself together. Why? Why must I be sacrificed? I wander die like mother. Her vision soon started to become blurry again as she started to crawl towards the door but her was becoming weaker by  the minute as that smell filled the hallways again. Her eyes started to burn more from the smell as she gasped, darkness was consuming her again.....but she didn't want this not now. "P-Please.....no!"   Her vision faded as she saw a dark figure walk up to her as the face was unclear to her.

 

Hearing a faint sound of a piano awoke her as she looked to see that she was in the music room of the school, seeing that no one was inside the room but her. What caught her eye was a small baby grand piano that was reflected with the moon on its smooth surface to see her face. Something was telling her to play this piano if only once, lifting up the case she looked to see it's pale keys waiting for a master to play.

 

 Sitting down she began to play as she softly sung a lullaby that she remembered long ago.

"I want to meet you, but I can't
No matter how much I put my thoughts into it, this prayer couldn't reach you
Because I've really lost sight of something. Before this, I had always believed in a sole reality of what was only in front of my eyes"

"Until I can tell you my feelings, I'll never forgive myself I won't give in, I won't back down. So please wait for me, believe me I want to meet you.....but I can't."

 

Elizabeth stops playing as her voice died down to a whisperas someone enter the room, turning around she knew who it was. Someone that could take this pain away from her heart as she stared into his crystal blue eyes. Allen smiled lightly at her as he grabbed one of her strands of ebony locks and smelled it, sighing deeply he looked at her as he kissed her hand.

"My dear Elizabeth.....we meet again."
