Ch10 - The God of BloodA Chapter by SinTrustlessOne death can change the world
Purpura gasped, shaking.
He looked about, before realizing where he was. He was once again in the realm of the god of time. "Ah, good you're awake. I'll admit, many don't take well to repeated deaths. But you're quite resilient." He said, as Purpura got up. His chest hurt immensely, but he knew it would subside. "Alright, let's get you back out there. You know the drill." He sounded impatient as he spoke. Purpura stepped over to the globe, with a frozen image of the queen holding his heart. It wasn't an image he wanted to see. "Hurry up." he said, Purpura glanced back to him. He was in an odd hurry. Purpura reached his hand up. "Stop right there." an unknown voice said firmly. Purpura looked to see a male with dark hair. He was easily a good bit taller than Purpura. And a quick glance to Tempus told him that they did not like each other. Tempus looked to the new male. "Shoo, you gave me permission to utilize him." "That's true, but with the stipulation that I'm included in his utilization." Purpura looked from one to the other, not sure what was going on. The new male walked over to Purpura. "It is good to see you Purpura. I am Seguine, the God of Blood. I know religious studies wasn't one of your best subjects, but I'm sure you're aware that as a blood demon you are considered under my jurisdiction." Purpura shrugged a bit, he knew of the god. But as he'd said, religious studies wasn't his best subject. Mostly because he didn't think it'd be important to know. Given his current situation though... Perhaps he should have paid more attention. "Purpura was just about to leave, to try again." Tempus said firmly. Seguine looked to him, "To try and keep the prince from killing the queen. I'm aware. However, we both know that the list of people who are capable for killing her could be counted on one hand. With the prince being one of them. She isn't about to die of old age, so he'll be busy with this for centuries." "That's not the point. He has to do it." Purpura didn't like that idea, just the last year had been horrible. Contracts were starting to pile up, and he was beginning to feel like a babysitter. Seguine spoke, "He needs a help, to end this." "I am helping, I reverse each instance of failure." Tempus said. Seguine shook his head, before looking to Purpura. "Do you want to keep dying at the hand of the queen again & again? Until she dies by some other means?" He paused as Purpura shook his head no. "Because I'll be honest. If she kills you, Tynan WILL kill her. Your death will trigger her's. And she is getting more and more antsy in her desire to kill you. You'll just keep dying again and again." Tempus spoke sternly, "Enough Seguine! He needs no further details." Purpura looked to each. Seguine looked to Tempus, then back to Purpura. He lifted his hand and shifted the image on the orb to just before the first dignitary had died. He offered his hand to Purpura. "I will help you end this conflict." Tempus spoke up, "We cannot interfere!" Seguine smirked, staring at Purpura. "I'm not interfering. I'm answering a blood demon's request for help." Purpura stared at his hand, then looked to Tempus. Tempus looked like he wanted to kill Seguine but couldn't. Finally Purpura looked back to Seguine's hand, and took hold of it. He felt his body jerk a bit, before Seguine released his hand. "Damn it Seguine!" Seguine just smirked, "There, now you can end this problem, once and for all." Purpura looked at each of them, he didn't feel much different. He took the clock out and offered it to Tempus. Tempus sighed, before speaking softly. "I cannot speak out against the god that governs over you, at least not to you. When his help does kick in... Just... Think of Tynan." Purpura looked a him a bit perplexed. Tempus leaned in, taking the clock and resetting it. "His help isn't meant for half-bloods. Don't let it consume you... If you feel yourself slipping away... just... think of Tynan." Purpura looked to the clock, then Tempus. Just then Seguine spoke firmly, "What's the hold up?" Tempus stood tall, "Nothing, just reminding him how the clock works." Purpura stepped back, looking to them both. Tempus had a look of extreme concern. While Seguine wore a smug smirk, like he had won a bet. Purpura pushed on the clock and felt himself vanish. He opened his eyes to see himself at the moment in the basement. He could see the dignitaries, the queen, but not move. It was a minute delay, to allow himself to re-orientate on the moment. A minute never felt long enough to decide the full plan of action. © 2017 SinTrustless |
