Ch8 - For the Love of BloodA Chapter by SinTrustlessI shall never quench the god of blood's lust for blood.
Purpura was walking down a flight of stairs.
Each wing had it's own kitchen, he could start there. He knew where Tynan's generals would sleep if not out. He doubted the Crudelis used the same rooms, but it was worth a check. He paused, having reached the main hall. It was neutral ground. Standing, speaking to a guard was the queen. He quietly kept walking, hoping to avoid her attention by maintaining a good distance. Just as his foot touched the end of the steps, she turned to him. "Purpura." she said, in a commanding tone. He froze, and looked to her. Even if this was neutral ground, Tynan was right. Her version of neutral wasn't exactly friendly. "Come here." she commanded. He walked over, watching her. She didn't employ him... However so long as her 'commands' didn't interfere or contradict Tynan's he had to play nice. She looked to the guard. "This man, a guard of my daughter's, claims he is immune to your method of execution." The guard looked concerned. Just listening to his heartbeat, the male was nervous. Either, he had claimed such, and she was now testing him. Or, she was lying, and intended him die, likely for some other infraction. Purpura looked to the male, not sure how to play along. "Kill him, to prove his words false." she commanded. The guard said nothing, he knew better. Purpura knew her plan, to force a show of his hand. She intended to force him to reveal his blood demon abilities. Purpura smirked though, he gave a respectful bow, before walking away. "Purpura! Where are you going? Kill this guard now!" she demanded pointing to the guard. She was enraged, her pale arms turning black. Her eyes already black. Just then Tynan appeared at the top of the stairs. "Mother?" Tynan questioned. She looked to him, "Your assassin is refusing my order." Her entire body began to change to black. "To kill that guard? That is one of sister's... Yes. I specifically told him, not to kill any of her guards." She still looked enraged, before turning back to the guard. Purpura used the chance to slip over to Crudelis's wing. Tynan returned down the hall. As the two left, the entire castle echoed with the guard's gurgled scream. Purpura moved quietly, before finally finding the kitchen. Guards were sparse in the lower levels. Servants, and cooks were low priority. He went inside, and the clamor of the kitchen suddenly sent still. They all looked to him. One chef sighed, "Alright. We know the game. Were you instructed to kill all of us?" Purpura examined them all, most were easily replaceable servants. Not many that would bother the princess if killed. So he shook his head no, and instead pointed to two chefs. Chefs were harder to replace. Not only did the princess have to trust them... They had to know what she liked to eat, and how she liked certain dishes. The two chefs sighed, he almost felt bad as they approached. These people knew this game to well. The siblings were constantly fighting. It seemed to only get worse as they got older. Purpura knew working for the royal family was considered the highest honor. He also knew it generally was a short-lived employment. He formed blood claws, and quickly stabbed the two, and ripped out. The two collapsed to the ground. He looked to the rest, who were holding their breath in fear that they were next. Purpura instead pointed to the top of his shoulder. They looked to each other, then one spoke. "The generals?" Purpura nodded, they were the only rank to wear their rank on top of the their shoulder. Other ranks were placed elsewhere. "The generals' rooms are on the fifth floor." Purpura offered a thankful bow, and left. On his way up to the fifth floor, he eliminated two butlers, and a couple maids. He cautiously walked the hall of the fifth floor. Two guards were approaching, so he ducked into a room. He sat crouched, and glanced the room. It was... pretty. Purpura supposed that was a main difference between the siblings. Crudelis focused on numbers, and appearances were of utmost importance. Tynan instead wanted top of the line, expert training, and cared little for appearances so long as things were efficient. Purpura listened, before exiting the room. He went door to door listening, before finally finding two heartbeats. They were in the same room. Perhaps sharing strategies, or comparing notes from a previous battle. Whatever it was, their hearts were racing. He opened the door, readying a sword of blood. The two didn't notice him, completely engaged in themselves. Purpura rolled his eyes, and closed the door quietly. The two were helping themselves... to each other. He moved behind the male, and formed a large spike. This was honestly a first for him, and he rather hoped he would forget it. Both cried out in bliss. Just before Purpura threw the large spike down, impaling both of them. The spike went straight thru both of their stomachs. The two gurgled in surprise. Purpura pulled the spike out, the blood and a bit of their blood fusing back into his armor. The male collapsed onto of the female. It wasn't often one managed to catch two generals with their pants down. He shivered with a desire to vomit. But went to the window. He had to get the last general's information from Kipsy. He opened the window, and glanced back to the bloody couple. Perhaps this sort of event, is why the god of blood was also considered the god of sex. Though, he doubted this is what the god's followers had in mind. He climbed out the window, and began to climb down the side of the castle. He had either just pissed off a god, or perhaps made the god's day. Given that he was a blood demon, he rather hoped it was the second.
